Nadia Kaabi-Linke's 'Seeing Without Light' at Hamburger Bahnhof

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Nadia Kaabi-Linke, an artist based in Berlin and born in 1978 to a Ukrainian mother and a Tunisian father, is showcasing her solo exhibition titled 'Seeing Without Light' at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart in Berlin. This exhibition delves into the theme of concealed violence across both historical and modern landscapes, prominently featuring 'Blindstrom-Extrakte' (2023), which draws from censored artworks from the 1930s at the National Art Museum of Ukraine. This adapted piece incorporates the 'Spezfond' collection, including 'Harvest Review' (1937), which was seized by the Soviet regime due to its political themes; its destruction was avoided thanks to the German Wehrmacht's invasion. The exhibition also introduces 'Bud’mo' (2023) and showcases two decades of Kaabi-Linke's artistic journey. Curated by Sam Bardaouil and Daria Prydybailo, it receives support from Freunde der Nationalgalerie, Burger Collection Hong Kong, and the TOY family, along with a catalogue series accompanying the display.
