NABOA Tulum: A Luxurious Retreat Where Architecture and Nature Converge
In the lush landscape between the jungle and the Caribbean, NABOA Tulum offers a unique hospitality experience that redefines luxury as calm, intimacy, and connection with nature. With only ten suites, the hotel promotes a human-scale approach, encouraging guests to replace schedules with daily rituals. Designed by Jaque Studio, led by Mexican architect Jesús Acosta, in collaboration with Australian firm Studio Wenden, the architecture blends seamlessly with the tropical environment using natural materials like chukum, stone, and warm woods, creating a serene atmosphere that dissolves boundaries between interior and exterior. Wellness is integrated into the daily experience through yoga, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, while the restaurant LU_LO, under chef Carlos Bordonave, reinterprets local ingredients and Mexican traditions with a contemporary twist. Mixologist Koki Yokoyama, winner of World Class México 2024, crafts botanical cocktails that enhance the relaxed ambiance. NABOA Tulum represents a new concept of travel, emphasizing simplicity and authenticity over abundance. This project is featured in the 89th edition of Glocal Design Magazine, titled 'Visionarias del espacio,' which showcases 15 female architects and interior designers expanding the conversation on architecture and design in Mexico, with covers by Prince Láuder and Jimena Estíbaliz.
