Nabla & Zibe Paint Verdi Mural for Parma Street View

A new mural dedicated to composer Giuseppe Verdi has been unveiled in Parma as part of the third edition of Parma Street View, an initiative founded by Chiara Canali and Federica Bianconi that uses street art to beautify urban spaces. The work, created by internationally recognized street artists Nabla & Zibe, adorns the underpass of the city's railway station, designed by Spanish architect and urbanist Oriol Bohigas. The underpass serves as a transit hub for trains, buses, taxis, and private vehicles, and is a key arrival point for residents and tourists. The mural is part of a larger urban renewal project that began in 2014 after seven years of work, aimed at reconnecting the city center with the periphery. The artists described their piece as a dreamlike journey representing Verdi in all his aspects, blending his hopeful eyes with his origins at the Casa di Roncole, the labor of the fields, and his enduring global artistic legacy, all set against the backdrop of the Teatro Regio di Parma. Previous editions of Parma Street View included a collective mural on the theme of the Barricades at Piazzale Rondani and an intervention by street artist Pao on the perimeter wall of Pensilina Toschi.
