NABA Students Report on 2024 Venice Biennale Themes and Disobedience Archive
In March 2024, Marco Scotini, the Head of the Visual Arts Department at NABA, conducted a seminar called 'Curatorial Practices on the Margins of Foreign Everywhere' for students in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA Rome. This seminar was part of the Foreigners and Archive initiative, where students explored concepts from the 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, particularly focusing on Claire Fontaine's works, The Zoetrope and Foreigners Everywhere. Their insights were gathered into a report featuring essays by Francesca Senatore on 'Stranieri Ovunque', contributions from Valentina D’Aprile and others discussing Fontaine's installations, and analyses of Pablo Delano's 'The Museum of the Old Colony' (2024). Additionally, topics covered included Disobedience Archive's Kaiserpanorama and Lina Bo Bardi's 1968 MASP exhibition. Michele Gerace created a video reportage capturing the seminar experience.
