NABA Launches New Master in Art and Ecology in Milan

NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milan has launched a new first-level Academic Master in Art and Ecology, directed by Gabriele Sassone. The program aims to foster an interdisciplinary approach addressing biodiversity, sustainability, urban landscape, nature conservation, climate change, and geosciences. It combines theoretical seminars, field research, experimental workshops, and exhibition projects. The master includes specialized figures such as agronomists and cartographers, and involves artists like the Urbonas (MIT), Fernando Garcia Dory (Inland), Ravi Agarwal, Paolo Cirio, Elena Mazzi, and Stalker. A final annual exhibition is planned, similar to the recently opened 'Il parlamento delle cose' at PAV. The Visual Arts Department, directed by Marco Scotini since 2003, also offers a Master in Contemporary Art Markets (led by Ilaria Bonacossa) and a Master in Photography and Visual Design (directed by Francesco Zanot). The program responds to urgent ecological questions and aims to prepare students for careers in land art, public art, sustainability consulting, art market professions, and visual communication.
