NABA Documentary 'Roma, appunti per un'accademia' to Premiere at Rome Film Fest

other · 2026-05-04

NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) will present its documentary 'Roma, appunti per un'accademia' at the 14th Festa del Cinema di Roma, within the Risonanze section. Directed by Fabio Capalbo, a filmmaker and NABA professor, the film marks the opening of NABA's new Rome campus (its historic campus is in Milan). It traces Rome's art scene from the 1950s to today, inspired by the exhibition 'Mostre in mostra' held last summer at Palazzo delle Esposizioni. The documentary features cultural institutions such as MAXXI museum and Teatro dell'Opera, interwoven with personal and professional stories of collaborators at the new Rome campus before classes began. The setting is the historic Garbatella district, where the school is located, explored through local voices and students' eyes as they engage with the area's industrial archaeology to create a collective artwork in the campus courtyard. The screening will take place on October 21 at 2 PM at Casa del Cinema (Sala Deluxe), Largo Marcello Mastroianni, 1, with free entry subject to availability and prior registration. A roundtable discussion with representatives from featured cultural organizations will precede the screening.
