NABA and Warner Bros. Discovery Collaborate for Anti-Violence Art Project

other · 2026-04-27

Warner Bros. Discovery and NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) have partnered for an art project addressing gender-based violence, timed to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25. The collaboration stems from the documentary 'Alessandra. Il coraggio di una figlia,' airing November 24 at 21:20 on Real Time and streaming on Discovery+. The film tells the story of Alessandra Cuevas, whose mother Teresa Buonocore was murdered on September 20, 2010, in Naples after testifying against Enrico Perillo, who had abused Alessandra. Perillo was sentenced to life imprisonment but was declared insolvent, leaving the family without compensation. On November 23, at NABA's Milan campus, students from the Visual Arts Department, supervised by artist and professor Marco Bongiorni, unveiled an artwork created during an intensive workshop exploring 'the shape of courage.' The piece consists of small wax and clay sculptures forming an 'archive of gestures of courage,' displayed as a reminder that courage lies in everyday actions. The project aims to raise public awareness about gender violence.
