MYllennium Award 2019: Italian contest for under-30 creatives
The fifth edition of the MYllennium Award, Italy's first multidisciplinary contest for Millennials, is now open. Organized by Gruppo Barletta Spa in memory of founder Raffaele Barletta, the award targets under-30s with projects in art and culture. It aims to counter negative stereotypes about Millennials, whom Paolo Barletta, President and creator of the award, calls the true protagonists of the technological revolution. The initiative has supported 140 young talents from across Italy with financial aid and professional opportunities. The award holds the bronze medal of the Senate for its social and educational spirit. The 2019 edition features eight categories: MyBook (non-fiction), MyStartup (tech startups, with €10,000 each, a trip to Boston, a Digital Magics path, and the Endeavor special prize), MyReportage (investigative journalism), MyJob (new job opportunities), MyFrame (cinema), MyMusic (best track), and the new MySport (national-level athletes). A special category, MyCity, focuses on street art and contemporary art to regenerate the San Lorenzo district in Rome, this year on the theme of human rights, marking 70 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Winners receive €3,000 and production of their works. The deadline is April 30, 2019.
