MVAA Architects Design Contemporary Holiday Homes in Transylvanian Cultural Landscape
MVAA - Molnar & Vass Arhitecți Asociați has completed a residential architecture project in Moldovenești, Romania, scheduled for 2025. The 230-square-meter holiday homes were designed by lead architect Attila Molnár with contributions from Dániel Vass and Eszter Kis. Curated by Hadir Al Koshta, the development responds to its rural Transylvanian setting near landmarks like Cheile Turzii gorge and Piatra Secuiului mountain peak. Local context includes the historic village of Rimetea, 16th-century Jósika Castle, and traditional village churches. Structural engineering was handled by Moebius Engineering, while HSC Instal provided MEP services, with Paeco serving as general contractor. Photographs were captured by viewcatchers, and materials included products from manufacturer Wienerberger. The design balances contemporary living needs with traditional rural identity, continuing the area's architectural heritage in a modern interpretation.
