MUVE Education: 40 Years of Inclusive Art Education in Venice

institutional · 2026-04-27

Since the 1980s, MUVE Education, which is affiliated with the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, has been providing art and cultural initiatives. Coordinator Cristina Gazzola explains how the organization has transformed from primarily serving schools to offering programs for families, adults, and marginalized groups. Family activities encompass game paths, Activity Books, multilingual workshops, free monthly events, and a Summer Camp at Forte Marghera. For adults, there are various courses, including a naturalistic photography class at the Museo di Storia naturale di Venezia Giancarlo Ligabue. Notable projects include multisensory tours for visually impaired guests. During the pandemic, MUVE created toolkits and virtual tours, and is now welcoming back school groups, alongside outdoor initiatives and involvement in EDU DAY and Biennale Arteinsieme.
