cultural-heritage · 2026-05-14

The MUUS Collection has acquired the Todd Webb archive, featuring the work of the American photographer who lived from 1905 to 2000. This extensive collection contains about 15,000 prints, 50,000 negatives, and Webb's detailed journals. It showcases his street photography from the postwar era, capturing scenes in New York and Paris, as well as his travels in Great Britain, New Guinea, and Africa. Webb, inspired by artists like Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe, received two Guggenheim Fellowships in the 1950s. The archive will also include pieces by Rosalind Fox Solomon, Larry Fink, and Deborah Turbeville. In November, MUUS will partner with Paris Photo to present works by Webb and Eugène Atget, curated by David Campany.
