Muta Imago's 'Tre sorelle' at Biennale Teatro and New Opera Debut

Muta Imago, a Rome-based theater company founded in 2006 by director Claudia Sorace and dramaturg Riccardo Fazi, continues its tour of 'Tre sorelle' (Three Sisters), a Chekhov adaptation, with a performance at the Biennale Teatro in Venice on June 22-23, 2024. The company also debuted the opera 'Alfred, Alfred – La serva padrona' on May 24 at the Teatro Ariosto in Reggio Emilia, featuring works by Franco Donatoni (1995) and Pergolesi (1733). Sorace describes the productions as exploring themes of time, identity, and mortality through immersive visual and sonic elements. The company is known for blending theater, performance, musical theater, and radio, with a focus on the relationship between humans and their time. Upcoming projects include a workshop at the Venice Biennale and a return to Teatro India in Rome in December 2024.
