festival-fair · 2026-04-26

From June 3 to 9, 2024, the MuseumWeek digital festival returns for its tenth edition, inviting museums, libraries, galleries, archives, research centers, and music hubs worldwide to share cultural content on social media. Organized by the French nonprofit Culture For Causes Network under UNESCO patronage, the event has grown to involve over 60,000 participants from more than 100 countries. Each day is themed around a specific hashtag, with this year's overarching theme exploring the relationship between Nature and Culture. The schedule includes: June 3 (#DietroLeQuinte) focusing on behind-the-scenes museum operations like restoration and exhibition setup; June 4 on how artificial intelligence can support arts and culture; June 5 on biodiversity in honor of World Environment Day; and subsequent days covering urban nature, water (World Oceans Day on June 8), and coexistence with other living beings. Italian participants include the Musei Civici di Roma, which ranked in the top 20 for interactions in 2023, the Museo archeologico di Cagliari, Parco del Colosseo, Museo Egizio di Torino, Museo archeologico di Venezia, Parco archeologico di Pompei, Palazzo Reale di Napoli, Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, Museo tattile di Varese, Castello di Rivoli, Palazzo Ducale di Mantova, and Reggia di Caserta. Offline events such as performances, concerts, and readings are also organized by participants.
