Museum of the City of New York opens outdoor photo exhibition 'New York Responds'

The Museum of the City of New York has inaugurated 'New York Responds', an outdoor photography exhibition visible from Fifth Avenue and Central Park. As museums remain closed due to COVID-19, the museum displays works on exterior walls, allowing passersby to view images of daily life across the city. The exhibition features 13 photographers: Clayton Benskin, Ximena Echague, Milo Hess, Juliana E Muchinyi, Accra Shepp, Francisco Vasquez, Kenneth Nelson, Valerie Caro, Gene Gutenberg, Enrique Garcia, Darnell Thompson, Nina Drapacz, and Francesca Magnani. The show will evolve over time as new photographers contribute via Instagram. Subjects include City Hall, Harlem, Wards Island Bridge, Washington Square, Queens, and the Williamsburg Bridge, where barber Anthony Payne is shown working outdoors. The exhibition connects different neighborhoods through photography.
