Museum Booster Hackathon Winner: Bone Conduction Bracelet Get
The first edition of Museum Booster, an hackathon promoted by MAXXI in collaboration with Groupama Assicurazioni, took place on October 21-22, 2017, in Rome. The winning prototype is Get, a bone conduction bracelet developed by the DEED team (Luca Gianfreda, Edoardo Parini, Emiliano Parini, Guido Porcaro). Get allows museum visitors to access audio content by simply touching a finger to their ear, eliminating the need for handheld guides, maps, or smartphones. The jury, composed of Barbara Gasperini, Andrea Manieri, Alfredo Valeri, Prisca Cupellini, and Elena Pelosi, selected Get for its disruptive use of technology to renew the visitor experience. DEED receives a €5,000 prize and will develop the project with MAXXI's support, which will serve as a testing ground for one year. The hackathon involved 11 groups and 56 professionals from IT fields, all passionate about art and new technologies. Prisca Cupellini, Digital Manager at MAXXI, stated that Museum Booster demonstrates the potential to improve, innovate, and transform cultural experiences through technology.
