Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen launches drive-thru exhibition at Rotterdam Ahoy
The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam has partnered with the Rotterdam Ahoy convention center to create a unique drive-thru art exhibition. Visitors will cruise through a dim event space in electric cars, taking in over 40 artworks from the museum's collection. Notable artists on display include Ted Noten, Oskar Kokoschka, and Paul McCarthy, among others. There are also installations by Bas Princen, Trenton Doyle Hancock, and Anselm Kiefer. Museum director Sjarel Ex described the experience as a mix of 'action and contemplation, excitement and amazement.' This initiative, designed to compensate for the museum's closure during lockdowns, allows up to 750 guests daily to enjoy art in a new format while traditional spaces stay shut.
