Museo Tattile Statale Omero Opens Design Collection in Ancona

The Museo Tattile Statale Omero in Ancona has inaugurated a new Design Collection, curated by Fabio Fornasari. The collection features 32 iconic objects that have received the Compasso d'Oro award, arranged thematically around daily life activities such as traveling, living, cooking, working, and playing. The exhibition emphasizes tactile and auditory experiences, with sound design by Paolo Ferrario and audio descriptions by Chiara Alessi accessible via Bluetooth audio guides. Objects include the Olivetti Valentine portable typewriter, the Grillo telephone, the Brionvega Cubo radio, the Bialetti Moka pot, the Gufram Bocca sofa, the Alessi Anna G. corkscrew, and Tod's driving shoes. The collection aims to explore the relationship between design and human behavior, challenging the notion of home as a static space. The museum, originally founded for the visually impaired, continues to promote accessibility and multisensory engagement.
