Museo Picasso Málaga opens free for Noche en Blanco and International Museum Day

Museo Picasso Málaga (MPM) will participate in La Noche en Blanco Málaga on Saturday, May 16, 2026, and International Museum Day on Monday, May 18, 2026, offering free admission on both days. The 17th edition of La Noche en Blanco is themed "Málaga, el futuro se escribe con música" (Málaga, the future is written with music), focusing on music as a universal language. MPM will be open free from 8:00 PM to midnight on May 16, with last entry at 11:20 PM. Visitors can explore the permanent exhibition "Pablo Picasso: estructuras de la invención. La unidad de una obra," featuring 144 works, as well as dedicated spaces "Picasso y el grabado" (Picasso and printmaking) showcasing graphic works and the historic Crommelynck press, and "Picasso. Línea de vida" (Picasso. Lifeline), a chronology of his life and work. The museum's bookstore will also be open. On International Museum Day, May 18, MPM will offer free entry during regular spring hours (10 AM–7 PM, last entry 6:30 PM). The global theme for 2026 is "Museos uniendo un mundo dividido" (Museums uniting a divided world), emphasizing museums as bridges across cultural, social, and geopolitical divides. International Museum Day was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). MPM's participation reinforces its commitment to accessible, open cultural programming in Málaga.
