festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The Museo Novecento in Florence has launched its summer 2020 program, titled 100\900, featuring free evening events in its Renaissance cloister and loggia. The program includes theatrical readings, concerts, and lectures running through October, with safety measures for social distancing. Director Sergio Risaliti emphasized the aim to rediscover Florence's history through writer Vasco Pratolini, in collaboration with Fondazione Teatro della Toscana and young actors from the 'iNuovi' project. The Reading Pratolini cycle began July 2 and continues with Metello on July 23, Le ragazze di San Frediano on September 24, and Cronache di poveri amanti on October 2. The Piano Novecento festival returns for its second edition, curated by pianist Riccardo Sandiford, with four concerts on July 3, July 10, September 11, and September 18, following the theme 'Rifugi e narrazioni' and opening with Bach. The Made in Italy project, originally a radio program during lockdown, adapts to the museum space with two appointments: July 16 focusing on Mario Mafai and Scipione, and September 17 on Carlo Carrà and Ottone Rosai, with dedications to De Pisis, Casorati, Carlo Levi, and Martini. Current exhibitions include the retrospective 'Allan Kaprow. I will always be a painter – of sorts' until October 5, 2020, and 'Campo Aperto – Emanuele Becheri. Sculture e disegni' until September 14, 2020.
