Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza opens guide recruitment for 2026

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is recruiting guides for the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. Candidates must hold a degree in Art History, History, or Tourism, and have a C1 level of English or higher. They must be registered as self-employed (RETA) during the service period and available for weekend shifts. The selection process includes an evaluation test demonstrating knowledge of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, communication skills, and proficiency in Spanish and English, plus any additional languages applied for. Valued qualifications include official guide credentials from the Comunidad de Madrid, three years of cultural guiding experience, intermediate to advanced knowledge of French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Russian, or Chinese, expertise in contemporary art, postgraduate degrees in humanities, and prior experience in cultural dissemination. Preselected candidates will be notified of their test date, which involves explaining one or more works from the Permanent Collection in the chosen language(s).
