Museo Diocesano di Milano Turns 20 with Titian, Londonio, and Street Art

The Museo Diocesano di Milano is celebrating its 20th anniversary on November 5, 2021, with a lineup of exciting exhibitions and events. From November 6, 2021, until February 6, 2022, guests can admire Titian's 'Annunciation' (1558), on loan from the Museo di Capodimonte in Naples, as part of the 'Un capolavoro per Milano' project. Beginning November 24, visitors can also see the 18th-century 'Presepe Londonio' by Francesco Londonio, which was donated to the museum in 2018 by Anna Maria Bagatti Valsecchi. Additionally, a mural featuring saints Ambrose and Carlo, created by Orticanoodles and Liceo Artistico Sacro Cuore students, will be unveiled to Archbishop Mario Enrico Delpini on the anniversary. The museum’s collection includes nearly 1,000 artworks spanning from the 2nd to the 21st centuries, showcasing renowned artists like Bernardo Luini and Lucio Fontana. Director Nadia Righi noted the increasing diversity of the museum's visitors from across Italy and beyond. The festivities will also include contemporary works by artists such as William Congdon and Claudio Olivieri.
