Museo di Napoli Opens Gastronomic History Museum in Naples
In late April 2024, a new museum showcasing the culinary heritage of Naples was inaugurated at Domus 19 in Piazzetta Riario Sforza. This establishment serves as a branch of the Museo di Napoli and features the Bonelli Collection, which spans from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. Among the displays are an 18th-century wood-fired oven, daguerreotypes, historical posters, vintage photographs, and a 1720 promissory note from Giuseppe Gallo. Additionally, visitors can explore a multimedia totem featuring archival films and participate in interactive pizza-making workshops. The Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani has been a proponent of a pizza museum, having made a prior attempt in 2014. The main Museo di Napoli has resided at Fondazione Casa dello Scugnizzo since 2017.
