Museo della Stregoneria Contemporanea reopens in Turin with new esoteric spaces

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

The Museo della Stregoneria Contemporanea has reopened in Turin at Via Giovanni Somis 4, near Porta Susa station and Piazza Statuto. The new location, inaugurated in January 2025, features an esoteric library, the Sophia research center (Scuola di Occultumo e Paranormale), a workshop, and a shop selling magical tools. The basement houses a 'casa della strega' with herbology, altars, magic mirrors, and ritual instruments. The museum's collection, assembled since 1999 by founder Norak Odal, includes the tarot decks of Carlo Piterà, a Mesopotamian amulet of Pazuzu, and the Triade in Mandragora. The original museum opened in January 2020 in via San Domenico near the Gothic church of San Domenico, site of the first inquisitorial tribunal. Turin's reputation as an esoteric capital inspired Odal to create the museum.
