Museo della Bora: A One-Room Museum Celebrating Trieste's Wind

The Museo della Bora (Museum of the Bora and Wind) in Trieste, Italy, is a small, privately-run museum dedicated to the city's famous wind, the Bora. Founded by Marco Enrico Giacomelli, the museum operates from a 50-square-meter space called the Magazzino dei Venti, which serves as a 'rough draft' for a larger envisioned museum. It displays historical images, scientific instruments, curious objects, and contemporary artworks related to wind. The museum is part of the Associazione Nazionale dei Piccoli Musei (National Association of Small Museums), which provides a network for similar institutions. Visitors come mainly from Lombardy, as well as school groups from across Italy and even Austrian teachers. Upcoming activities include a exhibition of wind-powered instruments by artist Matteo Nasini at Palazzo Costanzi until April 25, and the BoraMata festival in June 2016, celebrating wind with games and entertainment.
