Museo del Novecento Milano Unveils Revamped Galleries with New Focus on Marini and Post-War Art
The Museo del Novecento in Milan has unveiled 'Novecento: Nuovi Percorsi', a reorganization of its collection after a nine-year period. This initiative, which took two years to develop, introduces a fresh installation for Marino Marini and expands the timeline to cover the 1960s through the 1980s. Marini's artworks, including 'Piccolo cavaliere' (1949) and 'Le tre figlie del carrozziere' (1947), are now displayed under the Sala Fontana, crafted by Italo Rota. The Marini collection was gifted between 1972 and 1986. The museum also features new loans and the Collezione Bianca e Mario Bertolini (2015). Notable artists such as Mario Ceroli, Andy Warhol, and Carol Rama are included. Director Anna Maria Montaldo mentioned that the rehang aims to enhance the museum's perspective, with completion expected by 2020.
