institutional · 2026-04-26

The Museo Broggi, a new contemporary art museum, has opened in Melegnano near Milan, housed in the former Broggi Izar metallurgical plant (active 1900–1996). The 180-square-meter space, renovated by the municipality in 2023–2024, retains original machinery and turbines. Curated by Diblu Arte aps, the museum focuses on Outsider Art, 20th-century art, and contemporary art. President Giorgio Bedoni states the aim is to promote culture and community participation, with exhibitions of national relevance, book conferences, and events. The inaugural thematic show in May 2025 will feature artists from Atelier Diblu Arte. Funding comes from private partners and, for specific events, public funds from the municipality, supported by Deputy Mayor and Culture Councillor Simone Passerini.
