Museo BAU: virtual street art museum launches in Milan's Bovisa district

On February 8, 2025, Museo BAU – Bovisa Arte Urbana opens at Bovisa Urban Garden in Milan, transforming the entire Bovisa neighborhood into an open-air street art museum. The project is funded by Regione Lombardia's GIOVANI SMART 2.0 grant and includes a digital archive of local street art, photographic documentation, virtual exhibitions, and a cycle-pedestrian guide to murals and points of interest. Inauguration speakers include Paolo Cottino (Regione Lombardia), Giulia Tosoni (Comune di Milano), Tiziana Elli (Municipio 9), Prof. Zurlo (Dean of Politecnico di Milano's Design School), street art experts Christian Gangitano and Luca Rancy, and local committees Bovisattiva, Rob de Matt, and Urban Garden. The initiative is organized by Collettivo AAA, APS Migarden, APS Intra, and ETS Amico Charly, with workshops for youth to distinguish street art from vandalism. Museo BAU emphasizes community participation, non-elitism, and ongoing collection development through events and activities.
