Museion in Bolzano presents comprehensive exhibition of Franco Vaccari's participatory environments

exhibition · 2026-03-29

The exhibition "Feedback. The Environments of Franco Vaccari" is currently on display at Museion in Bolzano, honoring the artist’s 90th birthday and marking his first significant showcase since his passing in December 2025. Vaccari, who was once a physicist, pioneered the concept of "Esposizione in tempo reale" (Real-time exhibition), focusing on the involvement of the audience. The show includes approximately twenty pieces from the Museion Collection, mainly sourced from the Archivio di Nuova Scrittura, which was donated in 2020. Curators Frida Carazzato and Luca Panaro have organized the exhibition, which will be available until September 13, 2026. Bart van der Heide, the museum director, notes Vaccari's impact on modern artists such as Tino Sehgal. The interactive design by Fosbury Architecture features works like "Scultura buia" (1968) and "Esposizione in tempo reale n. 21" (1993).
