MUSE Science Museum in Trento Celebrates 10th Anniversary with 4.66 Million Visitors

The MUSE – Museo della Scienza di Trento, designed by Renzo Piano, marks its first decade with over 4.66 million visitors across six floors, a garden, and a biotope. The museum has hosted 135 exhibitions, 200 school programs, 250 public events, and produced 858 research publications. Director Michele Lanzinger highlights the museum's evolution from the original Museo di Storia Naturale di Trento (founded 1922) into a hybrid of natural science museum and science centre, emphasizing sustainability before the Paris Agreements. Supported by the Provincia Autonoma di Trento, MUSE has forged 200 partnerships with local entities, engaging 860 supplier companies and employing 281 staff. President Stefano Zecchi, who joined in 2019, aims to boost international visibility and foreign audiences. On July 22, the museum will host a 10-hour free celebration with talks, workshops, concerts, and performances, including a concert by Colla Zio (Sanremo 2023 revelation) and a Love Generation 90 DJ set. Future plans focus on interdisciplinary projects, inclusion, and accessibility, such as the masterclass 'Progettare l’inclusione' for people with disabilities, aligning with the concept of cultural welfare.
