MUSA Exhibition at Triennale Milano Celebrates Sport, Art, and Winter Olympics

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Triennale Milano hosts Casa Italia and the exhibition MUSA, honoring the relationship between sport and art as envisioned by Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the Olympic Games. Curated by Lorenzo Pellicelli, Beatrice Bertini, and Benedetta Acciari, the show features 72 artists across generations, divided into nine sections named after the Muses. Highlights include photographs by Claudio Abate documenting artists like Marina Abramović, Joseph Beuys, Gilbert & George, and Roy Lichtenstein; the original model of Pier Luigi Nervi's Palazzo dello Sport for the 1960 Rome Olympics; and works by Cy Twombly, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Yan Pei-Ming, Christo and Jeanne Claude, Jannis Kounellis, Daniel Spoerri, Arman, William Kentridge, Shirin Neshat, Ai Weiwei, Anri Sala, Thomas Struth, Elmgreen & Dragset, and Mario Merz. The exhibition runs until February 22, 2026, coinciding with the XXV Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026.
