Murano Glass Exhibition Opens at Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Neue Sammlung Design Museum at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich presents 'Murano. Milano.Venezia. Glass' until October 2016. The exhibition showcases 200 works from the Holz Collection in Berlin, one of the most comprehensive collections of 20th and 21st-century Murano glass. It highlights glass artists associated with Murano who participated in the Triennale di Milano and the Venice Biennale over the decades. Notable pieces include a glass goblet with spiral stem by Barovier exhibited at the 1895 Venice Biennale, vases by Carlo Scarpa for Venini from 1920, and experimental projects by Ercole Barovier, Fulvio Bianconi, and Archimede Seguso. The exhibition fills a gap by bringing these Venetian glass masters to a German museum.
