Murakami and Abloh Collaborate at Gagosian London

Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh have produced a series of unique works for Gagosian Gallery in London, coinciding with London Fashion Week in late February. The exhibition, titled 'Future History', runs until April 7, 2018, and features collaborative pieces that experiment with different techniques and subjects. Notable works include 'Glance past the future' (2018), which superimposes Gian Lorenzo Bernini's 1623 self-portrait over Murakami's character Mr. DOB on a poster covered in pink paint drips, and 'Life itself' (2018), an architectural carapace designed by Abloh housing one of Murakami's iconic flower sculptures. Murakami, born in Tokyo in 1962, has previously ventured into fashion, notably designing bags for Louis Vuitton. Abloh, born in Rockford, Illinois in 1960, is the designer behind the street-fashion label Off-White.
