Muracci Nostri cancels Primavalle murals in protest against Rome municipality
The street art group Muracci Nostri has removed 20 murals from the Primavalle market in Rome, which were originally painted in 2016, as a form of protest against the city council and Municipio XIV, headed by Alfredo Campagna. These murals, created by 40 artists during the festival celebrating actor Gian Maria Volonté, were part of a municipal initiative aimed at revitalizing the market, which has 52 stalls, though only three are currently operational. A lengthy renovation project led to a decrease in stalls to 16 and increased expenses, sparking discontent among the remaining vendors. Evita Andujar remarked that the murals were taken down voluntarily due to unmet commitments, emphasizing the community's neglect.
