MUMU concert series merges art and music at Milan's Biblioteca Ambrosiana
MUMU (Musica al Museo) launches a weekly concert series at Milan's Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, running every Wednesday from September 29 to October 13, 2021, 6-9 PM. The project, conceived by Le Dimore del Quartetto founder Francesca Moncada, pairs chamber music with Renaissance masterpieces. Concerts occur in rooms housing works by Titian, Raphael, Botticelli, Bramantino, Jacopo da Ponte, Jan Brueghel the Elder, and Leonardo da Vinci. Performers include harpist Francesca Marini (Sept 29), cellist Nemanja Stankovic (Oct 6), and guitarist Eugenio Della Chiara (Oct 13). Guided tours of the Ambrosiana's collection are offered every 30 minutes for groups of up to 15. The program highlights Titian's "Adoration of the Magi" and Raphael's "Cartoon for the School of Athens."
