Multisensory exhibition 'Dentro il colore' opens at MUSE in Trento

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The MUSE – Museo delle scienze di Trento presents 'Dentro il colore. Attraverso la materia e la luce', a multisensory exhibition exploring color perception through seven colored volcanoes. Each volcano (white, red, yellow, green, blue, violet, black) offers an immersive experience combining projections, natural specimens, and contemporary art. Over 100 museum artifacts from zoology, botany, mineralogy, petrography, and paleontology are displayed, including the yellow-streaked plumage of the Bittern, the allochromatic mineral's varied colors, and the white Pedrazzite stone. Conceived by architect Michele De Lucchi and philosopher Stefano Zecchi (President of MUSE), the exhibition runs until June 4, 2023, at Palazzo delle Albe. De Lucchi states: 'Color does not exist by itself. It is light, energy, and vibration of particles. The entire exhibition revolves around this relationship between matter and light, tangible and intangible, reality and imagination.' Zecchi adds: 'The exhibition is a journey where the experience of color builds knowledge, allows us to process emotions and interpersonal values.' The show blends science and art, featuring specimens from 500 million years ago to the present, alongside artistic projections.
