Multiple Chelsea exhibitions feature Pace Gallery sculptures, Afro Kismet video tableaux, and abstract masters
Pace Gallery is currently featuring new sculptures that draw inspiration from the lesser-known works of a painter who has been active since the 1980s. This exhibit, called "Afro Kismet," is open in Chelsea until August 17 and showcases video pieces that reflect the artist's distinctive style. At the same time, BravinLee Projects is hosting a retrospective at VOLTA, celebrating thirty years of this abstract artist’s impact. Meanwhile, Cheim & Read is presenting a solo exhibition that explores various creative paths. These exhibitions in Chelsea emphasize different interpretations of slow abstraction. Additionally, a new biography aims to dispel myths about a notable and quirky painter. A panel discussion led by David Cohen featured several artists sharing their insights.
