Multiple artists featured in studio visits and exhibitions across New York galleries and institutions

Kahn passed away on March 15, 2020, following an interview originally conducted in 1999. Earlier this spring, his work was presented at Rachel Uffner Gallery. A show at James Cohan Gallery remains on view through October 20. Robert Storr will deliver a lecture on Rockburne's work at Dia:Beacon at 2PM on Saturday. Another exhibition took place at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The artist expressed a desire to "get my hands dirty" and noted that both video and music have provided a stronger understanding of layering. This dialogue between two painters was previewed for Saturday afternoon, building on a previous encounter in 2016. The joy of creation was emphasized as overcoming the negativity of illness.
