MuFoCo's First Milan Exhibition: Donata Pizzi's Photography Collection at Triennale

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The exhibition 'L'Altro Sguardo. Fotografe italiane 1965-2015' is currently on display at the Triennale di Milano, marking the first collaboration with the MuFoCo – Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea di Cinisello Balsamo. Showcasing 150 photographs and photobooks from Donata Pizzi's private collection, it highlights fifty years of Italian women photographers. Works from around fifty artists, including Adelita Husni-Bey, Luisa Lambri, and Letizia Battaglia, are featured. The collection is anchored by a 1965 photograph by Lisetta Carmi. Running from October 5, 2016, to January 8, 2017, the exhibition aims to support MuFoCo, which has faced challenges following the dissolution of Italian provinces. Anna di Prospero's 'Self portrait with my mother' serves as the guiding image, representing themes of femininity. Pizzi hopes the exhibition will foster dialogue and pride among viewers.
