MUDET: Alba's Truffle Museum Opens with Steve McCurry Exhibition
The 93rd Alba International White Truffle Fair has commenced, introducing the MUDET (Museo del Tartufo di Alba), which will officially open on October 14, 2023. This museum, situated in the heart of Langhe, highlights the ecological, historical, cultural, and culinary significance of truffles. Mayor Carlo Bo and Councillor Emanuele Bolla stress its importance throughout the year. Spanning 530 square meters, the facility comprises ten rooms, a laboratory, multimedia tools, and over fifty displays. A café and bookstore are available daily from 10 am to 7 pm. The City of Alba, with assistance from various organizations, developed the museum. Its inaugural exhibition, "Truffle hunters and their dogs," showcases a photographic collection by Steve McCurry.
