MUCNYC designs Kite acoustic panels for Narbutas

architecture-design · 2026-05-20

New York-based design duo MUCNYC has created the Kite collection of acoustic ceiling panels for Lithuanian workplace furniture brand Narbutas. The panels are made from flat PET felt sheets that are cut, expanded, and folded into three-dimensional structures, inspired by the transformation of kites lifted by wind. Five distinct designs range from swirling, rounded shapes to angular, geometric forms, all harmonizing to help zone open-plan spaces with exposed ceilings. The PET felt contains over 50 percent recycled content and is available in multiple colors. The collection addresses sound reflections and noise in hard-surfaced environments.
