exhibition · 2026-04-22

Mounira Al Solh has been chosen to represent Lebanon at the 60th Venice Biennale, which will take place from April 20 to November 24, 2024. Her diverse artistic approach includes painting, drawing, embroidery, video, music, and performance, often addressing themes of gender and migration in a whimsical, poetic manner. Notable recent exhibitions feature Museumsquartier Osnabrück (2022), BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (2022), Sharjah Biennial 15 (2023), Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (2023), Busan Biennale (2022), Documenta 14 (2017), and the 2015 Venice Biennale. A selection committee, including Nada Ghandour, Nathalie Bondil, Jean-François Charnier, Basel Dalloul, and Elie Khouri, made the decision. Ghandour will act as commissioner and curator, with Dina Bizri as associate curator. The Lebanese Pavilion, situated in the Arsenal, is organized by the Lebanese Visual Art Association (LVAA), a nonprofit based in Paris.
