Moscow Photobiennale 2012 and Milan Image Art Fair
The 9th Moscow Photobiennale, which ran from March 6 to May 13, 2012, stood out for its thematic unity and high-quality presentations. It revolved around three main themes: Cinema Photography, Focus on America, and On the Road. Russian artists exhibited compelling works that tackled various social, political, historical, and environmental topics. Among the highlights were Wim Wenders' "Photos of the Earth's Surface," William Klein's 1955 New York, Ai Weiwei's "New York 1983-1993," Bernard Plossu's American Southwest, and Stephen Shore's "Uncommon Places." Renowned Russian photographers such as Vladislav Mikosha, Sergey Shestakov, Arkady Shaikhet, and Alexander Slyusarev were also featured. Additionally, the Milan Image Art Fair occurred from May 4-6, 2012, showcasing over 200 solo exhibitions centered on international fashion photography.
