Moretti Fine Art opens new Paris gallery at Place du Louvre

market-auction · 2026-04-27

Italian Old Master gallery Moretti Fine Art will open a new Paris location on September 14, 2023, at 1 Place du Louvre in the 1st arrondissement. Founded in Florence in 1999 by Fabrizio Moretti, the gallery already has spaces in London and Monaco. The Paris branch will be directed by Italian art historian Giulia Giustiniani, who previously worked with Eric Turquin and has lived in Paris since 2012. The inaugural exhibition will focus on Italian Baroque painting, reflecting the gallery's expertise in Old Master works. Moretti has served on the boards of TEFAF, Frieze Masters, and the Biennale Internazionale dell'Antiquariato di Firenze, and is a reference for many Italian and international museums. The building dates from the 1850s Haussmann period and has been fully renovated to balance historical memory with a contemporary exhibition space. Neighbors include the Samaritaine and LVMH district, Bourse de Commerce-Pinault Collection, Centre Pompidou, future Cartier Foundation, and Remy Lefur auction house. Moretti cited a solid collector base and constant collaborations with international cultural institutions as reasons for the move.
