Moral Imagination: Contemporary Art and Climate Change at Museum Morsbroich

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen, Germany, will host the group exhibition 'Moral Imagination' from February 7 to April 26, 2009, focusing on how contemporary art addresses the climate crisis. Curated by Dorothee Messmer and Raimar Stange, the exhibit draws inspiration from Günther Anders' notion of 'moral imagination.' Having previously appeared at Kunstmuseum Torgau in the fall of 2008, it showcases pieces such as Gustav Metzger's 'Model for Stockholm, June, Phase 1' (1972/2007) and Gordon Matta-Clark's 'Fresh Air Cart' (1972). Featured artists include Ursula Biemann, Marie Velardi, Christoph Keller, Leopold Kessler, and Dan Peterman. Critic Paul Ardenne points out Philippe Rahm's 'Glissement construit' as a minimalist installation that offers a drinking experience.
