Montenegro's First International Performance Art Festival RE-ACTION Launches in Cetinje
The first edition of IPAF – International Performance Art Festival, titled RE-ACTION, debuts in Cetinje, Montenegro, on October 19-20. Conceived by Salvo Bitonti, Director of the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino, and Marko Markovic, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Cetinje, the festival aims to strengthen ties between Italy and Montenegro through performance art. Curated by Maja Šofranac, Vice Director of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Luigi Moio, artist and professor of performance techniques, the program features works developed with Montenegrin students in 2022 and international guest artists Franko B and Marinella Senatore. Franko B presents Reflecting Wounds, exploring the individual body as a site of suffering and poetry, while Senatore brings her School of Narrative Dance, a collective project emphasizing social regeneration and self-education. The official poster was designed by artist Michela Troian. The festival responds to a world dominated by virtual narratives, emphasizing the urgency of direct action and shared experience.
