Montclair Art Museum Names Todd Caissie Executive Director
Todd Caissie, an Osage Nation member, has been named the executive director of the Montclair Art Museum (MAM), taking over from Ira Wagner, who is retiring after his tenure that began in 2020. Under the guidance of chief curator Kate Kraczon, MAM is embarking on a new chapter that emphasizes a "people-centric" approach and highlights emerging artists. Caissie expressed his vision for MAM, stating, "I envision MAM functioning like an exploding sun." Additionally, Kevin Tervala will assume the role of chief of Curatorial Affairs at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, while Cathleen Chaffee and Jillian Jones will become the artistic director and executive director at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, starting November 1. Stephanie Wiles plans to retire from the Yale University Art Gallery in spring 2027. Alan Michelson's sculpture "The Oyster" debuted on Governors Island on July 30.
