Montblanc Foundation Appoints Seven International Curators to New Curatorium
The Montblanc Cultural Foundation has established its first international Curatorium, a committee of seven prominent curators and museum directors who will select future recipients of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award and advise on acquisitions for the Montblanc Art Collection. The initiative falls under the new presidency of curators Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath. Members include Anne Barlow (artistic director, Tate St Ives), Sunjung Kim (director, Art Sonje Center, Seoul), Jean de Loisy (president, Palais de Tokyo), Franklin Sirmans (director, Pérez Art Museum Miami), and Jochen Volz (new director, Pinacoteca de São Paulo). The official launch is scheduled for May 2017 at the 57th Venice Biennale, where Montblanc supports projects by Katherine Nuñez and Issay Rodriguez in Christine Macel's main exhibition 'Viva Arte Viva'. After Venice, the installation will be presented at the foundation's Hamburg headquarters in 2018. Founded in 1992, the privately funded foundation supports cultural initiatives worldwide, including the PRIX Montblanc, Young Directors Award, and the Montblanc Cutting Edge Art Collection.
