Monopoli becomes 'city of light' with Illuminandia Christmas park
Starting December 5, the historic center of Monopoli, Italy, is transformed into an immersive Christmas light park called Illuminandia, created by Faniuolo Illuminazioni, a Putignano-based company with over 150 years of history. The project features hundreds of monumental light installations along streets, alleys, and squares, including a 22-meter-tall tree in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele surrounded by twelve swings representing zodiac signs. Other highlights include the Cupola della Neve ice dome in Piazza Palmieri, a Nativity scene in Piazza Garibaldi, and a reinterpretation of the traditional Puglian cassa armonica as Santa's house in Piazza XX Settembre. Installations also adorn Palazzo di Città, Biblioteca Rendella, and streets such as Via Garibaldi, Porta Vecchia, Largo Plebiscito, and Via Umberto I. Faniuolo Illuminazioni, founded in Putignano, has brought its Puglian lights to cities worldwide including New York, Tokyo, Dubai, and Madrid, blending craftsmanship, design, and technology.
