Monocle's Class of 2026: 16 Emerging Talents in Art, Architecture, and Beyond
Monocle's yearly spotlight showcases 16 emerging talents across diverse sectors. Sofia Xanthakou, an architect and founder of Local Local in Athens, is a Harvard and Pratt alumna known for her work on the Melas Martinos gallery and a townhouse renovation. José Luis Barquero, a 28-year-old painter represented by Galeria Mayoral, is set to exhibit in New York from June to August and in Paris in 2026. Clara Vitaggio, also 28, produces 10,000 bottles of wine in Sicily and holds a doctorate in oenology. At 26, restaurateur Tong Hann Goh has launched Marcy's and other dining establishments in Singapore. Chloé Ridel, 34, is a politician who co-founded Mieux Voter and contributed to the PS programme for 2027. Additional highlighted figures include writer Winnie Dunn, actor Alice Carvalho, artist Anton Thomas, fashion designer Kiichiro Asakawa, perfumer Jessie Willner, singer Silvana Estrada, and photographer Keerthana Kunnath.
