Monique Veaute proposed as artistic director of Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto
Dario Franceschini, Italy's Minister of Culture, has backed Monique Veaute for the role of artistic director at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, following a proposal from Mayor Umberto de Augustinis. Veaute, who is the current president of Fondazione Romaeuropa Arte e Cultura, has previously worked as CEO and director of Fondazione Pinault in Venice. Her nomination will be submitted to the festival's board for their approval. Giorgio Ferrara, the current director, has been in this role since 2007. Originally from Tübingen, Germany, Veaute boasts an extensive background in cultural management, including establishing the music section of the Biennale de Paris in 1982 and founding the Festival di Villa Medici in Italy. She is also a recipient of the Cavaliere al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
